So today was a much better day than my previous days. First, the sun was shinning for the first time all week. Second, we celebrated Andi, the father's, birthday. Third I was able to cook a lot. The picture above is a typical place setting for the birthday person. Margaret says they don't do it always, only when she remembers.
The pictures below are showing the process I went through to make the noodles for our supper. They are called Speitz, I think, and come from southern Germany. We ate them with lots of butter and pork. Schmeckt gut! The final picture is the cake that I made for Andi's birthday. It is called a Black Forest Cake. The amount of time the goes into making the cake is a lot, very intensive. In the end the time was worth it because the taste was amazing.

When our daughter Amy was in Germany she made the speitz. In fact when we went I bought the speitz deal and she made it when she came home. I don't know if she still makes the noodles like that now or not. They were fun.
Hope you are getting used to things now. I am so glad you have skype to be able to talk to family and best friend N.
God bless you

Ahhh...cooking therapy!! Excellent! We have a recipe for spaetzle which must be a variation of this recipe. AND we have a spaetzle maker like in the picture. So, when you come home.... :)
That's how you spell it!!! I tasted really good but maybe because we ate it with a lot of butter.
